1. The "Quick Favor" vs. Ratios

• The Conflict: A loyal parent is in a bind and asks you to take their child for just an hour, even though you are already at your legal capacity (4 preschool children).

• The Paramountcy Choice: You must decline. Maintaining legal ratios is the only way to ensure active supervision. The safety of the children already in your care outweighs the desire to provide a "business favor" to a parent.

2. The Damaged Fence vs. Outdoor Play

• The Conflict: A storm overnight creates a small gap in your backyard fence. You have a full "Outdoor Exploration" program planned for the morning.

• The Paramountcy Choice: The outdoor area is closed immediately. The potential risk of a child escaping or being injured by the debris is more important than sticking to your educational schedule.

3. The Missing Ingredient vs. Supervision

• The Conflict: You’ve run out of milk for morning tea. The shop is only two minutes away.

• The Paramountcy Choice: You do not leave the premises or leave children with an unauthorised person. You change the menu instead. Ensuring the children are never left without an authorised educator is more important than serving a specific snack.
