Our Vision: The Story of the Olive Tree

At Olive Blessing, our name carries a promise. Just like an olive tree, a child requires abundant nutrition, care, and "watering" in their first few years to grow strong. While the early years require the most patience, an olive tree eventually bears fruit for hundreds of years.

We view the children in our care the same way. By investing deeply in their well-being and development now, we are helping them build a foundation that will serve them for a lifetime.

The unchanging value in the age of AI: the work of building up our children. In a rapidly changing world, the need for human connection, character, and heart remains constant. Our mission is to protect and promote these timeless values.

Our Philosophy

Olive Blessing Family Day Care acknowledges the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Peoples as the Traditional Custodians of this country, and their connection to the land, water and community in which we operate. We pay our respects to them, their cultures and their customs past, present and future.

This statement of philosophy describes our values, beliefs and understandings about children, families, the role of educators and the ways children learn. This is used as a guide to all aspects of the service’s operations.

Educational Programs and Practice

Our educators design programs and practices using the Havruta Learning approach, aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework principles of “Belonging, Being and Becoming” and “My Time, Our Place.”

Children's Health and Safety

We provide a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment that promotes each child’s wellbeing, confidence and independence while reflecting the warmth of a home-like setting.

Governance and Leadership

We foster a culture of continuous improvement by engaging coordinators, educators, staff and families, ensuring our philosophy reflects the service context.

Educators

We acknowledge that professional development of educators and staff are perceived as continuous learning that acquire new knowledge and skills.

Relationships with Children

We ensure educators foster positive, responsive and meaningful interactions so that every child feels secure, confident and included.

Partnerships with Families and Communities

We recognize families as children’s first and most important teachers and respect their role in decision-making and collaboration.
